So I just arrived home and I think it has only just sunk in that I am leaving for Vietnam in less than 12 hours!!! To be honest over the past several months I wasn't sure this trip was actually going to come to fruition....but here we are. To say the past couple months have been hectic is a huge understatement. From changing jobs, travelling to PEI and Ontario, dealing with health issues, helping put the team together and planning the team arrangements...and lets not forget the infamous wire transfer that is still unresolved in Vietnam....it has been busy. Even more reason why I'm so excited to be on my way and ready to enjoy the next month's adventure. Thank you to the weather god's for cooperating with me for this journey...no snow in sight.
What made my impending trip even more real is arriving home today to an email from Habitat for Humanity Vietnam with profiles of the families we will be supporting. As it stands now, it looks like we will be working with 3 families and focusing most of our time on the foundation portion of the build. One family doesn't even have a home...can you image how incredible this will be for them!!!
I've also been watching the weather...a definite must for any travelling Canadian! Looks like when I arrive in Ho Chi Minh City they are predicting a high of 37 degrees with a humidex of 44...can you say HOT?!?!?! I can't wait!
So that's it for now, but I'd also like to thank all of you who have supported this venture and helped make it all a possibility. Without your support, I'm certain I would not be packing my bags tonight in anticipation of my journey to Vietnam where I hope to make even the smallest difference in the lives of those in need.
Until next time...from Vietnam!
